Elmina is a contemporary Ghanaian restaurant in Washington DC by celebrated chef and restaurateur, Eric Adjepong. Influenced by his love for global cuisines, the aim is a bold dining experience that goes beyond a mere meal.

A dish so delicious, it bests your mother’s cooking.

Tastes of the Diaspora.

Elmina brings the vibrant flavors of Ghana to life with a playful, modern twist. Chef Adjepong serves up a delicious mix of refined tasting menus and casual “chop bar” bites—think smoky jollof rice with tamarind duck, melt-in-your-mouth fufu with peanut-goat stew, and crispy chofi (fried turkey tail) with spicy shito. The indulgence continues with desserts like mango pavlova and malva pudding cake, making every meal feel like a joyful culinary adventure.

This summer, Elmina debuts a radiant new spin on its beloved Tasting Menu—lighter, brighter, and layered with irresistible intrigue—paired with an expanded à la carte offering that invites deeper discovery of bold, sun-drenched flavors.
